Artist Bio

James Atchley, started tattooing in 2000, with an apprenticeship cut short because of his mentor moving out of the country. This caused him to be self taught, although his influences in art started at a young age. His grandmother and mother taught him multiple mediums including painting in watercolor, oils, and acrylics, to working with pottery, sculpture, and multimedia art. Using his unique artistic expression through many different styles of tattooing, keeps him rounded in this profession. Some of his favorites styles include; Custom script lettering, Americana, Judeo-Christian, Neo-traditional, Black and Grey Realism, & Japanese traditional. James is influenced by many different artists, Tattooers and Painters alike, which allows him to keep up to date with new techniques and products. James loves his family, any time he can get with them he’s off doing something with them; church, sports, shooting guns, painting, working on cars, camping, family trips. James also enjoys airbrushing custom paint,  and freelance commission artwork. James has also been a Autobody craftsman since 1996, which served as his first career for over 20 years. Recently moving to Texas in 2020, James is still looking for a shop to call home, but until then you’ll find him here and there guest spotting until the right spot is found or he decides to start up another shop. James is accredited with fifteen years of state licensed tattooing in Washington state, along with previously owning a Washington state licensed and regulated tattoo shop for 15 years, he is also currently licensed with Oregon state health tattoo licensing (Oregon has some of the highest standards for tattoo health licensing in the country), he also holds a current blood borne pathogen / HIV certification, and CPR and First aid card.
